.contra natura., my very first feature-length screenplay, currently on the rewriting phase, is the result of a research regarding how homosexual people lived during the Spanish dictatorship of Franco. It aims to vindicate the voices of the Historical Memory in Spain. In 2018, the script was selected to participate in the screenwriting Laboratory Labguion in Medellín, Colombia.

Synopsis

Madrid, 1973. María is a young student who lives in a conservative family where she does not feel able to fit in her mother’s plans. While her dream is to become a photographer, her mother expects her to study nursing. Meanwhile, María meets her neighbour Carlos, a young artist who will introduce her in a subversive colourful world where the dictatorship rules are not met with the same righteousness as at her home.

The laboratory was held in Santa Fe de Antioquía, Medellín, Colombia from the 24th to the 31st of October, 2018. The script is currently receiving its final touches with the aim of one day attending its premiere in Madrid, in Cines Callao, or in Cines Verdi in Barcelona.
